‘Sup?

Just a quick post to let you all know I’m alive. Summer is here and the kids are out of school and are working at or attending the local summer camp (Katie is the first witch in “Macbeth”, which I can say as I’m not in a theater right now). Anne and I are working to keep the roof over our collective heads. And we have a quick trip to see the rest of my family down in Maryland over the July 4th holiday. I hope to start up OSS production sometime in July once the dust has settled at work. In the meantime, have a good summer. (I gotta get back to the lawn)

‘Nother Status Check

Happy June, all!

OSS is still on hold (Boo!), work is still hectic (pant, pant!), but my iMac is fixed (Say Yay!). Actually, they gave me a new one!

The repair techs spent most of the month of May working on my old iMac (above, left) and finally threw in the towel and gave me a brand new one! Thank you AppleCare warranty!

I can’t use my old additional 3rd party RAM and I had to buy an external DVD/CD drive, but I was able to buy a new AppleCare extended warranty on the new machine. I was very happy with the old girl and I’m sorry to see her go. But now I have a brand new computer at no cost with three more years of warranty coverage.

Restoring all my data from my Carbonite backup account was almost as painful as not having a computer for a month. I now have an external HD for backup and might not renew my Carbonite acct. But that story is for another time and rant.

AAUUGGHHHH!

Damn. I have to do this again. I have to put OSS on hold.

You’ve probably noticed my posting has become spotty. There are a few things conspiring to cause that.

The first problem is my iMac is on the fritz. The bad news is that it will have most every major component swapped out before we’re done. (will it still be the same computer?) The good news is that I’m still on AppleCare! (till July)

The second problem is the felgercarb is about to hit the fan at work. My company is looking into changing our marketing automation, email marketing, and possibly moving our website hosting and CMS all by early July.

*ahem* AAUUGGHHHH!

My job responsibilities are changing as well. I’ll be not just the Sr. Graphics Designer but also the Sr. User Experience Designer as well. I’m going to be struggling to keep up with (and learn) the web migration, redesign, and all the marketing automation, salesforce.com integration, etc. all while still doing the PPT, collateral layout, web updates, and Flash animations I’ve been doing to date.

*ahem* AAUUGGHHHH! Version Deux.

So you could say I’ll be rather busy in the coming weeks. Sorry to say OSS needs to take a back seat for the near future. I’ll put up some posts from time to time but I’m going to be straight out for a while.
