WTF?
Yesterday I was to have started a web design program through Boston University. It’s an extensive 10 month part time program at BU’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIABU). I feel it will help me stay competitive in the marketplace and since I’ve been out of school for a long (long!) time, I’m really looking forward to it.
I showed up at the campus and said I was there for the beginning of the web design course and they said “what class?” Nobody seemed to know what was going on. Various campus and school directors came to see me and I had little, mini panic attacks since we’ve already paid half of the tuition, and my wife lost her job, and the kids need shoes, and the mortgage needs to be paid, and . . .
Turns out the classes were rescheduled for a couple weeks from now and I wasn’t notified. My admissions person called me today to apologize and make sure I had the correct calendar. Everything is sorted out.
This kind of thing happens to me more than one might think. My Mom used to tell me they were all “character building” experiences. My feeling is that my character is built and would the Universe please acknowledge that fact.
