Schulz muses on creative inspiration (and bus driving?)
I saw this video on the Daily Cartoonist Blog. It’s from a 1963 documentary on Charles Schulz. I remember those carefree days rolling around loose in the station wagon.

I had a good time at Vericon this past Saturday. Kris Straub and Brad Guigar are just as much fun in real life as they sound on the “Webcomics Weekly” Podcast. They obviously love what they do and their enthusiasm is infective.
The talk was fun. The panel had good time so the audience had a good time. The info was mostly what I’ve heard from these two in their podcasts, but I heard some new nuggets of wisdom. I got to talk to Kris and Brad some after the forum and got a couple of their books to look over to research how to put mine together.
The dinner was at John Harvard’s. I showed up at 7:00, the scheduled time, and the table was already filled, so I ended up at the “kids table” and didn’t talk to the guests of honor much. I had a good time anyway and met some other cartoonists and some writers and exchanged URLs and email addresses. The night ended for me about 10:30 when I figured I should head back to the Harvard Square T station to get a train back to my car. I was able to say goodnight the the guys and give them my cartoon/illustration postcard with the comic URL written on the back. (guess I should work up some OSS cards) I got the train, drove home, and sat down like Sam Gamgee and said “Well, I’m home.” My trip for the day complete.
I understand the group tried to go to a few bars but had trouble getting in with the underage college students (yes, I was one of the oldest people who attended) Maybe I should have stayed longer. Oh well.
Thanks to Kris and Brad and all the other who attended. It was nice to have a night in the city.
Here are a few pictures.

I had a fun time at Vericon at Harvard yesterday. I attended a web comic forum paneled by Kris Straub, Brad Guigar, and Catherynne Valente. There was also a dinner with Kris and Brad where I found if you arrive on time, the table is already filled up and you get put at the kid’s table. I’ll post more later.
