No wonder nobody’s called back yet.

Since we lost Tom this little ditty has been running through my mind. It’s a nice little song by Code Monkey Jonathan Coulton available on his web site. (for FREE!)
Words to live by. Enjoy.

If you’ve kept up with my sporadic blog posts here the last months, you might have noticed 2011 was a challenging one for me and mine. I thought I’d give you some good news.
I’m employed!
Well, I wasn’t unemployed before. I’ve been a full time contract graphic/web designer the past year and a half. What’s happened is the company I’ve been working at the past year has hired me on permanent. The board finally said “Um, he seems to be working out…. so…OK”. So goodbye to no holiday/sick pay, estimated tax payments, and private health insurance! (I must say, as a MA resident, thanks for “Romneycare”. It wasn’t cheap, but it was cheaper than COBRA.) And hello to W-4 and 401-K forms!
Hopefully this will be a steady gig for a while. The company is going strong and everything looks good for the foreseeable future. We could use some security. My son will be starting college in the fall. Yikes! (We’re putting all our hopes into winning the HGTV Dream House sweepstakes)
I’m getting back in the groove with the strip and I’ve even been able to maintain my small buffer. “OSS the Book 2” is in the works, I have some t-shirt designs in mind, and I still want to jump into the comics con world somewhere, somehow…
So things are on the ups in the Kandra household. On to bigger and better times!
Anybody wanna buy a book?
